5 day / 4 night trip to Bogotá and Cartagena, Colombia, featured in live auction.
The Botero Gala at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida, took place on Thursday evening, January 14. The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg is just across Tampa Bay from the Cox & Kings, USA office and we were honored to be a sponsor of this fabulous event in support of the arts in the Tampa Bay area. Rachel Robar from our Latin America department attended the Botero Gala.
The Black Tie event began with cocktails in the Marly Room at six-thirty in the evening followed by a tour of the Botero exhibit and dinner with live music at eight o’clock. Cox & Kings donated a 5 day/4 night trip to Bogotá and Cartagena, Colombia and the Museum Director, Dr. John Schroeder, conducted the live auction.
The Baroque World of Fernando Botero exhibit is being showcased at the museum from January 9 – April 4, 2010.
The exhibition represents the first retrospective of the artist’s work in North America since 1974. Included are 100 paintings, sculptures, and drawings culled from the artist’s private collection. Many of the works had never been exhibited in public.
