Gift to Share program benefits their local community.
Alila Villas Soori is generously offering a "Gift to Share" program, benefiting their Balinese community. For every three nights booked, the fourth is complimentary. Guests are encouraged to support one of three local programs in place of their complimentary night's stay — the East Bali Poverty Project, two neighboring elementary schools, or an environmental development project called Bali Focus.
The Gift to Share offer is valid for guests staying in between Jun 1-Jul 15, 2010. For more information on Alila Villas Soori, contact Denise Gogarty at 1-800-999-1758.
The East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP) is a non-profit organization established in 1998 by a British resident of Bali.
They currently support a wide range of sustainable projects in children's education, health improvement, nutrition, appropriate technology infrastructure improvement, natural water resources development, sustainable organic farming and erosion control.
The long-term goals of food security and self-reliance through sustainable social and economic development for the overall empowerment of the communities are now being realized through new organic farming cooperatives. Learn more about the East Bali Poverty Project.
Financial Aid for Two Neighboring Elementary Schools
Alila Villas Soori facilitates support for two local elementary schools in Kelating village.
SD Negeri 1 was established in 1919 and a pioneer for children's education in the area. As educational service requirements expanded, local government opened another elementary school SD Negeri 2 in 1969.
Students of both schools need proper educational material, supplies, and teachers. Maintenance of the physical structures provide safe classrooms.
Bali Fokus Sanitation
An Indonesian environmental engineer founded Bali Fokus in 1996 to promote and implement low-cost wastewater treatment in Bali.
This organization partners with the National Planning Board, local government, as well as the tourism industry. It has established programs that focus on water supply, sustainable tourism, decentralized solid waste management and community-based sanitation. Learn more about Bali Fokus.
