Ethiopian Christmas in January
Orthodox Christian religion plays an important role in the lives of Ethiopians. A particularly spectacular time to visit this devout country is during the religious festival of Ledet (Christmas - Jan 7) or Timkat (Epiphany - Jan 19). During this time, the cities of Gondar, Lalibela, and Axum are filled with colorful processions, dances and songs.
Our Ethiopian Odyssey journey may be arranged to coincide with this and other Ethiopian festivals. A visit to the north may also be combined with a cultural expedition to Southern Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. To discuss options and book your trip, contact Logan Stine at 1-800-999-1758.
Naadam Festival, Mongolia
The whole country is in a festive mood during Naadam! Experience the biggest Mongolian festival of the year — from the grand opening ceremonies at the country's largest Naadam in Ulaanbaatar to the more provincial Naadam festival in the Gobi. The yearly celebrations bring out a fun, but competitive spirit in Mongolians. Watch expert horse racing, archery, and wrestling—traditional sports very dear to Mongolians of all ages. Food, music, and dancing add to the celebrations of this centuries-old festival.
We are holding a very limited amount of exclusive deluxe lodging (max 6-10 guests), including the Three Camel Lodge, and the Ulaanbaatar Hotel, which is situated on the city's central square.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites — Honduras
Maya Site of Copan
The ruins of Copán are one of the most important sites of the Mayan civilization. The ruined citadel and imposing public squares reveal the three main stages of development before the city was abandoned in the early 10th century.
Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve
One of the few remaining tropical rainforests in Central America, the reserve has an abundant and varied plant and wildlife. In its mountainous landscape sloping down to the Caribbean coast, over 2,000 indigenous people have preserved their traditional way of life.
Select UNESCO World Heritage sites are featured on our Private Travel Journey Guatemala & Honduras: Mayan Treasures. To book your trip, contact Rachel Robar at 1-800-999-1758.
