One of our travel partners in Latin America is currently assisting an organization called CasaSito. This non-profit aims to increase the educational opportunities for indigenous children in Guatemala. Viaventure partners with CasaSito to provide water filter systems for in 6 rural communities where lack of clean drinking water is greatly restricted, especially in the dry season.
Each of the larger water filter systems can hold 5,000 liters of water or more. This technology can improve the water shortage situation of many underprivileged families, providing storage of clean water during the rainy season and a rationed supply during the dry season. So far, Viaventure has donated over 40 water storage units in 2009 and 2010.
