Cox & Kings, The Americas has announced the appointment of Michele Dienna as Director of Sales, Southeast USA.
Dienna – based in Cox & Kings’ newly opened Los Angeles headquarters – will act as a liaison to the travel consultants and destination specialists, supporting the national sales team by presenting the company’s entire product line throughout the Southeast territory, including Alabama, Arkansas, Eastern Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, the Carolinas, Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Bermuda.
In her new role, Dienna’s chief responsibilities include product education, providing sales support material to the travel community, creating brand awareness through travel programs and industry events, launching and facilitating marketing campaigns, and researching new destination opportunities to share knowledge with agents and consumers.

Cox & Kings' Thomas Stanley is quoted in a recent article in Hotels Magazine titled "Revolution Reverberations" – about the tourism industry weathering political unrest in North Africa and the Middle East:
"Thomas Stanley, center head and chief operating officer for Cox & Kings, the Americas, reports "a short-term reduction" of sales to Tunisia and Egypt, which the company is countering with a two-for-one special offer for the summer months…Stanley did also note 'emerging interest in travel to both countries in the fall and at Christmas.' Cox & Kings Celebrates the Grand Opening of its New North American Headquarters in Los Angeles
We welcomed over 400 guests including top travel agents, media, travelers and other special guests to our new offices on May 4, 2011 to celebrate our grand opening, with the theme of the “Golden Age of Travel.” In a prime location on Melrose Avenue, the space incorporates vintage décor with a contemporary design and multi-cultural inspiration to create a truly unique space, created by Ron Woodson of the design firm Woodson & Rummerfield. The festive evening featured Chinese Lion Dancers, an African a capella singer, a henna artist and a Brazilian crooner.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites — Malta
City of Valletta
The capital of Malta is inextricably linked to the history of the military and charitable Order of St John of Jerusalem. It was ruled successively by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Order of the Knights of St John. Valletta’s 320 monuments, all within an area of 135 acres, make it one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world.
Hal Saflieni Hypogeum
The Hypogeum is an enormous subterranean structure excavated c. 2500 B.C., using cyclopean rigging to lift huge blocks of coralline limestone. Perhaps originally a sanctuary, it became a necropolis in prehistoric times.
Megalithic Temples of Malta
Seven megalithic temples are found on the islands of Malta and Gozo, each the result of an individual development. The two temples of Ggantija on the island of Gozo are notable for their gigantic Bronze Age structures. On the island of Malta, the temples of Hagar Qin, Mnajdra and Tarxien are unique architectural masterpieces. The Ta’Hagrat and Skorba complexes show how the tradition of temple-building was handed down in Malta.

Cox & Kings' president Thomas Stanley himself announced the giveaway and winner, which aired May 4, 2011 on the television show Extra. The show covered a pre-record release party in Los Angeles for Jennifer Lopez's new album.
Extra's Mario Lopez spoke about the trip prior to Thomas announcing the winner— Pantea Naeimi, who won a 4-day trip to Peru courtesy of Copa Airlines and Lima Tours, and a big hug on stage from Jennifer!

David Schooler is president of Town & Country Travel, located in lovely German Village in Columbus Ohio, a Virtuoso agency. He considers himself an avid Equatorial Travel specialist, with favorite destinations of North Africa, Ecuador, and Southeast Asia.
